Georgia Pathways to Coverage is a Medicaid work-activity program that requires 80 hours per month of qualifying activity. KBAC Properties is directly aligned with this requirement. Our programs support residents in meeting the 80-hour threshold by connecting them to qualifying activities across multiple categories including employment, job training, vocational education, community service, and approved caregiving. You do not need a single activity that reaches 80 hours. You can combine activities in the same month, such as 50 hours of part-time work plus 30 hours of community service, and still meet the requirement. This flexibility is by design, and KBAC's wraparound services rooted in our four pillars of Health Access, Housing Stability, Opportunity, and Personal Development are structured to help residents build toward and sustain that threshold. Residents enrolled in our programs receive stable housing, access to healthcare navigation, job readiness support, and personal development resources all of which directly support Georgia Pathways participation and long-term Medicaid eligibility.

Georgia Pathways received federal approval effective July 1, 2021. However, the program did not officially begin operating until July 1, 2023, after a two-year delay.

New federal Medicaid work-reporting rules are scheduled to begin nationwide on January 1, 2027. Georgia will likely need to adjust its current Pathways program to match the new federal standard. Georgia's current version of Pathways may continue through 2026, but changes are expected before or at the start of 2027.

Most Medicaid expansion adults ages 19 to 64 will need to meet 80 hours per month of work or another qualifying activity. Current federal guidance also discusses compliance verification between eligibility determinations and redeterminations, and allows states to choose more frequent verifications including every six months rather than annually. However, how Georgia will implement its specific verification and reporting process under the 2027 rules has not been finalized. Georgia's final approach may still change before or at the start of 2027.
